How it works

In short: a free evaluation, a kick-off call, then a criterion-by-criterion plan that you work through with a coach in a private portal. When your evidence is ready, independent partner attorneys take over and prepare the petition.

Our coaching follows a clear sequence for professionals in any field, and you can see where you are at every step in your private portal. It works the same way whether you are aiming for an EB-1A, an O-1 or an EB-2 NIW.

1. Free profile evaluation

Fill in a short form about your background. We review it and tell you honestly whether coaching looks like a good fit.

You get: a personal reply with our view of your strongest criteria, the main gaps, and which pathway looks like the best starting point.

2. Kick-off call

If it is a fit, we meet to talk through your goals, your timeline and which pathways to pursue.

You get: an agreed target pathway (or two), the criteria to focus on first, and a realistic timeline based on how many hours a week you can give.

3. Build your evidence

Your coach works through a structured questionnaire with you, one criterion at a time. For each question you collect evidence in the portal: descriptions, links and documents. When a task is ready you send it for review.

Typical evidence includes publications and citation records, patents and how they are used, peer review and judging invitations, media coverage, awards, organization charts and role descriptions, salary records, and the names of independent experts who know your work. Where a criterion is weak, your coach suggests genuine ways to strengthen it.

4. Review and feedback

Your coach reviews each task and either approves it or sends it back with specific feedback. Only your coach can mark a task as completed.

5. Ready for attorney

When your profile is ready, your coach confirms it and introduces you to our independent partner attorneys.

6. Attorney stage

The attorneys prepare and file your petition. You keep using the portal to share and review letters and drafts.

The attorney relationship is directly between you and the law firm. The attorneys review and verify the evidence, give you legal advice, decide the final strategy and respond to any request for evidence from USCIS.

How long it takes

It depends on your starting point. Someone with strong, well-documented achievements may be ready for an attorney within a few weeks. Someone who needs to build evidence, for example by taking on peer review or speaking, may need several months. We give you a realistic view after the evaluation and update it as you go.

Frequently asked questions

What are the steps in BuildCaliber coaching?

Six steps: a free profile evaluation, a kick-off call, building your evidence criterion by criterion, coach review and feedback, confirmation that you are ready for an attorney, and the attorney stage, where independent partner attorneys prepare and file your petition.

Do I need to be in the United States to get coaching?

No. Coaching happens online through calls and a private portal, so you can work with us from anywhere.

How much time does it take each week?

It varies with your goals and where you start. Most people spend a few hours a week gathering records, requesting documents and writing short descriptions of their work.

What do I need before the free evaluation?

Only an up-to-date resume or CV and a rough list of your achievements, such as publications, patents, awards, judging or review work, media coverage, leadership roles and salary. You do not need to organize any documents yet.

What happens if my profile is not ready?

We tell you plainly, explain which criteria are weak, and suggest genuine ways to strengthen them over time, such as peer review, speaking, writing or taking on a larger role. Some people start coaching now; others come back later.

Can I switch pathways during coaching?

Yes. Much of the evidence overlaps across EB-1A, O-1A and EB-2 NIW, so the work you do for one usually carries over. Your coach will suggest a change if your record fits another pathway better, and the attorney confirms the final strategy.

We are not attorneys and do not provide legal advice. Coaching helps you prepare your profile. Legal advice and the petition itself come from a licensed immigration attorney.
